The Atlantic Sun preseason polls project a sixth place finish for the Lady Bisons basketball team this season.
“I think experience is huge in basketball,” head coach Greg Brown said. “When we get to the point our seniors can teach the freshmen, I think it changes the culture of how we do things as a team.”
Lipscomb had trouble rebounding last year, which lead to an unsuccessful scoring season. Brown expressed why he thinks this year will be different and how having five players over six-foot-tall will help in this area.
“Not only will size help, but the mentality of the team will make a difference,” he said. “I believe we will see some return on investment there by focusing on this aspect with our team.”
Senior Ashley Southern was named to the preseason Atlantic Sun All-Conference team alongside nine other NCAA players.
“I think the biggest strength for this team will be each other,” Southern said. “The key I believe will be how to make each other better.”
The Lady Bisons will open up their regular season Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. against Loyola in Allen Arena.
