The Lady Bisons are now 5-1 in conference matches after a victory against the Stetson Hatters on Sunday afternoon at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
This game was the last regular season home game for the team’s four seniors — Emily Shuler, Alex Hickey, Molly Bray and Caroline Chadwell.
Lipscomb started off with both offense and defense dominating the first half with two goals.
Sophomore Jade Abarca scored the Lady Bisons first goal of the match with a penalty kick in the first few minutes of the first half.
Freshman Brooke Brenner followed the first goal with an unassisted goal to finish the first half of the play.
The Lady Bisons continued their momentum into the second half with freshman Maycie McKay kicking her eighth goal of the season, assisted by Shuler.
“The girls performed very well today, it is a step into the right direction and we need to be able to play like this for the rest of the conference,” Head coach Kevin O’Brien said. “We were aggressive and did not allow Stetson any room to breathe.”
The Lady Bisons will travel to New Jersey to play NJIT in their seventh A-Sun match Saturday, Oct. 24 at 12 p.m..
