After bad weather moved their game from Auburn to Nashville, Lipscomb played host and lost to the Auburn Tigers 9-7.

The Tigers got on the board first with a solo home run from junior infielder Tyler Miller in the second inning, but the Bisons quickly responded with a scoring run in the bottom of the inning bringing home four batters and taking a 4-1 lead.

Auburn didn’t lose the lead for long as they bounced back in the top of the third with a solo home run from junior outfielder and another home run from Miller that brought home three batters, and retook the lead for the Tigers 5-4.

A pitching change for the Bisons quieted the Tigers in the 4th inning, but the scoring started again in the fifth inning and extended their lead to 9-4.

Senior designated hitter Chris Bashlor and junior outfielder Maddux Houghton added two home runs for the Bisons bringing the score to 9-7.

Back to back 1-2-3 innings for Lipscomb in the eighth and ninth innings for pitchers junior Tyler Drabick and sophomore Tyler Guilfoil put the Bisons in position to tie the game.

The Bisons put both sophomore catcher Chaz Bertolani and junior infielder Malik Williams on base, but left both runners stranded, which ended the game.

With the loss, Lipscomb falls to 5-6 as they prepare to open ASUN conference play at home this weekend against Kennesaw State in a three game series. The Tigers improve to 11-5 and will take on #4 Ole Miss this weekend for their conference opener.
