Lipscomb hosted its 1st annual Homecoming parade to kick off the Homecoming festivities. The parade started from behind McFarland and traveled all around campus, stopping at Allen Circle.

As students waited for the parade to circle through outside of High Rise, student life provided drinks, cheeseburgers and hot dogs for everyone to eat along with boxed chips and cookies to munch on as well.

The parade consisted of cars, pickup trucks, scooters — you name it — filled with people and signs telling who they were representing or what their theme was. Social clubs, SGA, campus-wide clubs, including the RA’s within Residential Life, the College of Education, Leading Edge, the IDEAL program, the Biology department and more, participated in the parade with homemade floats.

Tomorrow there is also a tailgate from 12-2:30 p.m. before the men’s basketball game vs. TSU at 3 p.m. There is a contest among the clubs going on; whoever is the most creative with its tailgate and parade float wins $500.
