1. The Shot

On Nov. 27, 2001, the Bisons basketball team opened its $16.5 million arena with a Hollywood story. Trailing to North Texas late in the game, freshman guard Clayton Osborne hoisted a 65-foot prayer as the clock went to zero. What followed was pandemonium as the ball sailed through the net to give the Bisons their first victory in Allen Arena. Over 4,500 hundred fans stared in shock while students stormed the court and lifted Osborne into the air. Osborne’s heroics gave Lipscomb the 75-74 win and will always be remembered as “The Shot.” There was no better way for the Bisons to introduce themselves to the new decade and to the NCAA.
