The Bisons baseball team defeated SEC champions Georgia in the 2008 regional tournament. Lipscomb was a regional 4^th seed facing a national 8^th seed. The upset advanced the Bisons into the winners bracket. The upset was ranked as the sixth surprising upsets of the decade.
